Thoracic Surgery deals with the early detection, diagnosis and surgical treatment of a broad spectrum of thoracic diseases. An optimal setting for clinical, research and educational activities embedded in an interdisciplinary setting is provided by the Medical University of Vienna and the Vienna General Hospital. The primary aims of all activities are providing excellence in patient care and advancing treatment for patients with thoracic disease at the cutting edge of science.
